I came across the best article recently about a local Vancouver family that highlighted their Whistler and Vancouver outdoor lifestyle that they attribute to their happy family dynamic!
Yes, of course it’s about the skiing time they enjoy on the hills of Whistler Mountain, but it’s also very much about the time they have to chat together during their transfers to Whistler and their return back to Vancouver. It’s about dialing in to quiet evening family time with board games and books and planning their outdoor adventures for the next day.
In the winter time they embrace the snowy hills of Whistler and in the summer months they hit those Whistler hiking and biking trails hard. They are laying a foundation for their family and Whistler is helping them do that one skiing or biking weekend at a time!

Next stop…a local Langley Wine Tour!
It’s amazing how impressive the Langley wine region is when you take the time to explore it. Beautiful open spaces, perfect rows of plump grapes in full view as you approach each vineyard, old barrels, beautiful wood structures, quaint picnic areas and tasting tables, friendly faces, and oh the wine!
A tour like this can be done in 4 to 6 hours. Here are a few of our favourites…
1. Township 7 Vineyards
2. Domaine De Chaberton
So grand and impressive! It feels like the Mission Hill of our local grapes. Big and bold wood doors entering into a large tasting room and gift shop. You can book your own private tour for there are free tours that run daily at 2 and 4pm. Groups often like to time their stop here around a dinner at their Bistro.
3. Vista D’Oro Vineyards
It offers such a homey feel as you drive in with the vines in grand rows on your left and a charming tasting house on the right all surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers to impress. So quaint and just lovely.
4. Backyard Vineyards
What a great spot to stop with a group that is looking for a large outdoor gazebo to enjoy. This large wooden structure overlooks the vineyard on the right or you can enter through the grandeous wooden door to their tasting room and gift shop. Private tours can be booked and they are happy to organize a picnic for you and your group.
If your taste buds are tempted, Langley Wine Region offers a wonderful experience! You can book a 4-hour tour with just tours and tastings, or a 6-hour tour that includes a picnic or bistro dinner along the way.
Awaken your senses!
Full steam ahead for the Cruise season in Vancouver! It’s that time of year where those big and brilliant boats can be seen in the Vancouver port as lucky cruisers create a stream of disembarking from great adventures or boarding for adventures soon to come.
Taking a private charter from the Vancouver Airport (YVR) or your Hotel to or from the Vancouver Cruise Pier at Canada Place is an easy and most convenient way to go. And whatever you do, taking a bit of time to tour the beautiful city of Vancouver before you board your ship or after you disembark is highly recommended.
A short 2 to 4 hour pre-cruise or post-cruise tour would allow you to see such great sights as Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, the shopping hub of Robson Street, perhaps English Bay’s beachfront, the award winning Vancouver Convention Centre, and Granville Island’s Public Market.
So if you’re a lucky cruiser this season, let a tour of Vancouver be the cherry on top of your travels!
