What’s Happening in Whistler!

Winter is finally here, and we’re so excited to bring you what’s happening in Whistler! The mountains are OPEN!  Winter is such a magical time to be in the Resort of Whistler. Here are some winter highlights, and a few of the many reasons to be in Whistler…

The Mountains are OPEN! The chairs are now spinning on Whistler Blackcomb and full of happy skiers and riders pumped with all our fresh and abundant snowfall. The two side by side Resort mountains known as Whistler Blackcomb offer over 200 runs and over 8,000 acres of terrain, 16 alpine bowls, and 3 glaciers. Need I say more? We’re geared up for some truly awesome skiing and riding this season!

The Village is Aglow! Whistler Village is glowing with thousands of festive lights and is so charming to explore. Take it all in while holiday shopping in the many boutique shops.  

Olympic Plaza Ice Skating! Enjoy family fun at this outdoor skating rink right in the heart of the Village in Whistler’s Olympic Plaza, surrounded by shops and restaurants, and breathtaking views of the mountains. It also offers great photo ops beside the Olympic Rings and festive lights! Opening November 28th.

Hotels are Decorated for the Season! The Halls are Decked. Whistler’s many hotels are all dressed up for the holiday season.  It’s always worth a walk through to enjoy the wreaths, arrangements, twinkling lights, and festive music.

• November 29th Whistler Winterlight: Enjoy the fun in Whistler’s Olympic Plaza, ride the Ferris Wheel and enjoy the lights and entertainment.
• November 30th-December 1st Whistler Holiday Market: Browse the many local creations and treasures at the Westin Resort & Spa, including the impressive Bratz Biz Youth Artisan Market!
• December 4th-8th Whistler Film Festival: Check out the live and virtual events connecting audiences and talented filmmakers through premieres, programs, and special guest appearances. A great celebration for film fans!
• December 20th Dress Like Santa Day! Calling all Santa’s and Mrs. Claus’ to dress up, gear up, and meet at the Whistler Village Gondola at 8am to head up the hill for this annual event. What fun participating or watching as a sea of red and white jolly skiers and riders take to the hill together!
