Winter is Coming to Whistler!

November 4, 2022

Seasons have collided and winter is coming to Whistler at a rapid pace! The snow line is creeping down the mountain towards our charming Village. Whistler really has every opportunity to show off as Fall turns to Winter with all the brilliant Fall colours in the trees and that light dusting of snow up on the hills. Excitement is building and everyone is in heavy preparation mode for another fabulous winter season in Whistler.

Another La Nina weather pattern is predicted to take hold this winter, which means A LOT of snow is expected to fall. This is drool-worthy news for all those skiers, riders, and snow enthusiasts out there! And let’s face it, our beautiful boutique pedestrian cobblestone Village of shops and restaurants absolutely glistens and glows in thousands of tiny lights and is quite something to experience first hand.

We’re only weeks away from Whistler Blackcomb opening day and the mountain teams are busy making plans and preparations to ensure epic times on the slopes for all. And speaking of plans, here are some great Whistler travel tips to keep in mind for your Whistler holiday…

  1. Book Now! It’s a great idea to make your plans and secure your whistler transfers ahead of time to ensure availability for your preferred vehicle and times are there.
  2. Consider travel times – it’s about a 2.5 hour drive from YVR to the Resort of Whistler but highway conditions can sometimes add time to that estimate. So if you are leaving the Resort to catch a flight, we always recommend a departure from Whistler 5 hours prior to your flight departure time.
  3. Need groceries? We are a door-to-door customized service, so if you are in need of groceries upon your arrival you can order online and we can coordinate to bring you there on route to pickup, or we can preschedule a stop on route for you to grocery shop in person. There are great markets in Squamish (about half way to Whistler) and within the resort itself.
  4. Make reservations! If you have a specific activity in mind or a certain restaurant you are really looking forward to experiencing be sure to do your research ahead of time in the event a reservation is required. Regardless, there are SO many wonderful things to experience and places to visit so no need to worry about fulfilling your need for an inspiring and beautiful Whistler holiday.

A Whistler holiday is wonderful any time of year but there is something special about being in Resort over the winter holiday season. Come see for yourself! Contact us to inquire about your private transfers to Whistler.
