I came across the best article recently about a local Vancouver family that highlighted their Whistler and Vancouver outdoor lifestyle that they attribute to their happy family dynamic!
Yes, of course it’s about the skiing time they enjoy on the hills of Whistler Mountain, but it’s also very much about the time they have to chat together during their transfers to Whistler and their return back to Vancouver. It’s about dialing in to quiet evening family time with board games and books and planning their outdoor adventures for the next day.
In the winter time they embrace the snowy hills of Whistler and in the summer months they hit those Whistler hiking and biking trails hard. They are laying a foundation for their family and Whistler is helping them do that one skiing or biking weekend at a time!

A Day in Vancouver
Grab your favourite coffee first thing in the morning and get ready to make memories exploring Stanley Park, shopping on Robson Street, feeding your cultural taste buds in charming Gastown and Chinatown, checking out the view at English Bay’s beachfront, and enjoying the vibrant hustle and bustle of Granville Island Public Market. What a great spot to stop for lunch and take in the live entertainment!
After lunch a North Shore is definitely worth while to explore the Capilano Suspension Bridge and/or head up to the Grouse Mountain gondola. What a brilliant day!
Time to hit a funky Yaletown restaurant or lounge for good eats and hit the pillow to rest up for day two!
A Day in Whistler
Grab your favourite morning coffee, again! And enjoy the breathtaking coastal beauty of the Sea-to-Sky highway up to Whistler. There are so many charming stops you can take along the way including Porteau Cove, Shannon Falls, and the Britannia Mining Museum. Once in Whistler, the cobblestoned pedestrian Village will grab your attention. Explore the boutique shops and enjoy a patio lunch. Heading up the Whistler Blackcomb gondola for some sightseeing and perhaps even some hiking is a must! And the Peak 2 Peak Gondola is such a beautiful way to take in both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.
Langley Wine Tour
Ready to get your Wine on? You could take an afternoon to explore the local wineries that continue to impress with every passing year. Neck of the Woods, Township 7 Vineyards, Glenugie Winery, the Forte Wine Company and Domaine de Chaberton are some of the favourites. Leaving time to dine at Domaine de Chaberton is highly recommended!
A Day in Victoria
Yes, more coffee…must have that morning coffee! And then grab a morning ferry out of Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal to Victoria. Wander around the gorgeous and all impressive Butchart Gardens and then into downtown Victoria to explore the main streets, restaurants and charming shops before grabbing your return ferry. Might even see a pod of whales out there as you sail from one coast line to the next. Simply beautiful!

Private Charter vs. Rental Cars to Whistler
So you’ve booked your Whistler holiday, or you’re in research mode and are close to booking your trip to Whistler, and you are considering your Whistler transporation options.
Many things may run through your mind, or across your screen, leaving you pondering…should I book a private charter service to
Whistler or just rent a car to save some bucks?
The misconception is that booking a private charter will be the
more expensive option, which it is not.
Luxury Transport Inc. is the safer, more functional and more economical option, and here is why…
Not only does booking your private charter with us provide you with a full meet & greet door-to-door friendly and personal service, but by the time you’ve factored in your rental costs and your overnight parking costs for the duration of your stay at your Whistler Hotel, we as a private charter service just became the more economical choice between the two.
Most of Whistler’s hotels and condos are within easy walking distance to Whistler’s charming pedestrian Village as well as the Whistler Blackcomb lifts. And some of those that aren’t have courtesy shuttles running to and from the Village for your convenience. In short, you do not need a vehicle in Whistler.
We are also your safest option given our high level of insurance and our top-of-the-line winter tires. Rental cars do not often come with winter tires which becomes a very clear danger when attempting the Sea-to-Sky highway to Whistler in the winter time. Leave the driving to our fabulously friendly team of driving and customer service professionals!
Our vehicle style with the biggest bang for your buck is our 9 and 11 passenger Sprinter Vans, which can hold right up to 9 and 11 passengers with an enourmous amount of luggage. A one-way service in a Sprinter Van is $375 plus taxes and gratuity. Divide that by 9 or 11 passengers and you have the best service in the best vehicles at an extremely competetive rate.
Throw in our Facebook Promo going on right now that saves you $25 on a one-way or $50 on a roundtrip and it’s truly a match made in heaven!
And the winner for transfers to Whistler is…Private Charter with Luxury Transport Inc. every time!

What a grand adventure to head up the Whistler Blackcomb gondolas for a day of hiking, exploring and of course fabulous dining!
The Peak 2 Peak sights are absolutely breathtaking from all angles and even the smallest of children (my 3 year old for example) can handle some of the hikes up top.
A pleasant surprise was the bin of ski poles that people can help themselves to for walking sticks, which the kids go crazy for of course!
There are impressive wood carvings along the trails along with plaques filled with bits of wildlife and plant info, not to mention the endless and absolutely beautiful photo opportunities.
If you are up to take advantage of the whole day and into the evening, it is well worth attending one of the Mountain Top BBQ’s that they do so well over the course of the summer.
Taking place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening at the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain, a dining experience is waiting for you at 6000 feet at the top of the Whistler Village Gondola.
This coming Sept 7th, 8th, 9th weekend, the weekend of the GranFondo, is the last weekend of the summer to take in this experience and all it’s delicous fixings!
Ahhh, Whistler..get up there!
